U. Denver has a brand new engineering building and gives $ to kids outside of CO. great small program. Really liked the professors we met.

It’s definitely a safety for some. The acceptance rate is 57%. Granted we all know the issues with acceptance rates, but it’s still not true that it’s not a safety for anyone. It was a safety for my friend’s kid, who is going to CalTech.

I agree that it would not be a safety for OP, but it could be a match.

BTW, lots of students think they want to do engineering but then find out they don't. There is something called information systems that is the business side of science (computer science though) and it's a good alternate to engineering if it does not work out.


Lehigh and Bates are going to be reaches with those stats

There is still time for her to study more for the SAT or ACT.

Does anyone know anything about Catholic? We are considering that for our DS.

Someone said Towson has engineering. I don't think that is accurate. Also UMBC is not really a safety anymore, though she should try.

One question would be why the score is low.

If the test taker is an unprepped junior who’s missing some of the classes needed to ace the SAT and is terrible at taking tests, that’s different from a test taker who’s a senior, is already up to Calculus and has prepped a lot.
