The movie has a rating: PG that means "parental guidance" as some parts may be inappropriate for children.

It doesn't say TG: "teacher guidance."


Yes, this is why the teacher had signed permission slips from all of the parents saying that their kid could watch a PG movie. She had deferred to "parental guidance".

This is an excellent argument for homeschooling. Which also would solve the gay Disney movie problem at the same time.


Homeschooling doesn't work for parents who have other jobs. Being a teacher, even to your own kid, is a job. Believe it or not.

You hear about it more because of the internet. Trans people have always existed in their community bubble of safety. In the 1980s, a white suburban family wouldn’t interact with or be exposed to a trans person. With social media, you’re exposed to everyone and everything.

Trans and non-binary individuals go back millennia in pretty much every major civilization.


I was. Very brave person. I knew nothing about what it meant to transition - I was in high school and didn't have the language for any of it. Guess what I didn't do? Make fun of them or try to make their lives miserable. Guess what I inherently knew to do? Let them live their life. It wasn't that hard.

I have since then had many trans folks in my work world (just the style of work I do) and I have the same exact response. It's just not that hard to do.

Nothing stopping elderly from being trans, but they do not identify as so.

I think the trans people among those older generations long ago made peace with where they were in life and where society was. That doesn’t mean there weren’t trans people in those age groups.

What percentage of the Silent Generation is even still alive? Would it be a high enough percentage to accurately represent the generation as a whole?
