Over half the parents at our center that I've spoken to got their kids in on appeal. It's very common.
Probably at a certain point, the program administrators figure if the parents want it that bad, they'll make sure their kid succeeds in the program by providing any needed support. And with 20% of the kids in AAP these days, it isn't all that hard.

She had
NNAT 133
CogAT 136
WISC 145 (GMU)
Didn't get in last year, wasn't even in pool, and appeal failed. This year still didn't get in, and... Waiting on my second appeal. But not holding my breath.

DD got in on appeal (didn’t submit the WISC). She is in 5th grade now and doing very well.

Anonymous wrote:OP Here. Stats below. Should kid retake the NNAT or COGAT?
NNAT - 106
COGAT - 132
No WISC. Couldn't get one done in time.
GBRS - 2FO, 2CO, Strengths - Math (Y), Reading (N)
Report Card - Always 4s
Yes, the stats aren't the best but I feel like my child would do well in AAP. Just not the best standardized test taker.
