So does the NNAT not count for much anymore or is that speculation? Our AART said that you need 130+ in both to be considered, but after talking to some parents their kids did not score that high in either and were admitted.

Are iReady scores from grade 1 and K important? DSA, Wida access?
What kind of work by the student is to be submitted?

I don't think it's all that big a stretch. Making the top 20% is pretty easy for anyone who spends any time with their kids.

Yes, but I also made zero sense that DD didn't get in during the first round.

Both NNAT and CogAT were in very high 140s, and the GBRS was all CO.

We decided if DD didn't get in on appeal, we would've kept her in general education.

CogAT 136
WISC 145 (GMU)

Didn't get in last year, wasn't even in pool, and appeal failed. This year still didn't get in, and... Waiting on my second appeal. But not holding my breath.

OP here. I think the school has advanced math? We're a center school so I figure we do. I'm such a bad parent, I didn't even know these tests were used in the AAP determination. Thought you were either in or out.

Yes, the stats aren't the best but I feel like my child would do well in AAP. Just not the best standardized test taker.


I'd say success on appeal is unlikely, but applying next year could be. I would get a WISC. Preferably at GMU. Supposedly they trust that more. And a new GBRS from a new teacher might be all it takes. NNAT doesn't matter that much so I would not worry about retaking that. WISC would be better.
