Find a team with about 100 kids if you want good chances to swim A meets. Plus the team isn’t so monstrous.

I posted the other day, Fox Mill Woods has availability. This is our fifth summer there and we love it!

Swim Team Size: usually 100-120 but looking smaller this year (ie lots of chances to swim)

I actually quite like this thread. People helping people. Makes it way easier to find a vacancy for a team. Why do you care if other people are perfectly happy to post what they know?

I'm sure the swim team reps at various pools would appreciate fewer emails to answer as well (especially if they are not taking new swimmers.)

Do you mean Lee Graham? Pool membership wait list is about 2 years.

Woodley is an option.

OP it would help to say the general area as NVSL covers a very large area and most people want a pool closes to home

Sideburn Run in Fairfax (near Robinson SS) has availability. Really nice large pool deck with gazebo for parties. Swim team is in a re-building phase but does lots of fun activities. Preschoolers can do Shark Pups/Baby Sharks, which is great for learning to swim. Dive team is consistently quite good.

Yes. Also look at Fort Myer & Chinquapin in the CSL.

+1 this isn't an easy task since most pools have waitlists so it can take a long time to find one. It makes sense to gather this info here! I actually found Forest Hollow as one to look at without a potential waitlist from an older DCUM post and was very grateful!


People jump at the opportunity to criticize anything here. Check how many posters wrote something like this

“What a stupid post. You should have been looking in March. Without geographic area, this post is garbage. But anyway, here are pools with openings because even though I regard your question as asinine, I am VERY knowledgeable and I can’t resist contributing helpful information to this obviously idiotic post.”

You would be surprised. Forest Hollow has members that live in DC because of no pools. South Arlingtonians don't have pools and belong to Edsall, Lincolnia Park and some in Springfield.

McLean Hamlet has gone from decades of a looooong waitlist to having membership openings last I heard.
