I was involved in an accident in Alexandria, called for a report & police wouldn’t come unless there were injuries.

Jan 1 in Maryland they no longer come. The women who hit her called. My daughter like a dummy backed up behind her as only safe spot after accident. Then she was taking pictures trying to say my daughter rear ended her. She wanted to tell cops that.
It clearly made no sense. Her story Both cars on shoulder she hit brakes my daughter hits her but the right headlight my car and left taillight of her car only impact.

I am glad cops did not come. The scammers have upper hand

Some of the best money I have spent over the last few years has been a dashcam. Whenever things happen you just pull the card out and send a copy to the other person's insurance company. The two times I have done this the claim has been settled immediately.

$500 to never have to worry about what the other person is telling the cops or their insurance company.

No. MD Transportation law says that the person entering the road (e.g. the other lady) is required to stop or yield the right of way to the vehicle already on the road in this situation. Since she was coming form the off-ramp and merging onto a new road, she had to yield the right of way to vehicles already on the road she was trying to merge onto. The lady violated the right of way and caused the accident. She has no legal grounds for the suit as she was the one violating moving traffic laws. She can file, but she will lose. The insurance company will subrogate for OP's daughter. They will likely also claim lawyer fees, so the lady will not only lose the lawsuit, but will likely have to pay legal fees for anyone who had to defend against the frivolous suit.

Most places have online filing for collision reports. This is needed for insurance. But I can't find info on that for MoCo.

+1. Somebody rear-ended DS when he was stopped at a traffic light. Then she sued him for a neck injury. Our insurance company said it was a complete scam and handled it all. Except they sent her long medical history to teen DS who got a surprise look at her infections down there, I wish I were making this up.

Eventually the insurance company settled with her because, I guess, it was cheaper than going to court. So it pays to be a scammer and that's why they do it.

She’s going to have to find a doctor that would be willing to lie about her bumped head and the resulting medical issues. This will require doctors appointments, possibly mris, etc. that won’t find anything so her insurance will be in the hook. Not to mention, how
Did she bump her head if she was wearing a seatbelt. This lawsuit is not going anywhere. Her lawyer will tell her to drop it after the doctors report comes in. And when she realizes how little she will get and how long it will take, she will back off. Keep us posted!
