Some of those are way too short for and 'halter like' for a graduation outfit for a mom with a middle schooler.
+1 I prefer the longer ones with short sleeves than some of the 2-inch above knee and halter strap. Much classier.

This looks like the tablecloth my grandma used in the summer at her outdoor parties.
This comes in many color and fabric options and is a very flattering dress, almost universally.

i think you want to avoid a too formal dress. You can elevate with nice accessories: portrait hat, wedge espadrilles, cute clutch, etc.
