If you are paying for a rec league, you have a coach and admin people volunteering their time. Its not like you are paying them.

No you don't. I coach my kid's bball team for a couple of years when the league put out a call that they needed any coaches they could get. I binged coaching videos on youtube, learned a lot and the team did ok. Most rec coaches have not played at a high level and are doing it because they want to help out.

Maybe they cant do it better.
Maybe they don't have the time.
Maybe their work doesn't permit it, in terms of time/hours.
Maybe they have 2 jobs.
Maybe they have other kids.
Maybe they have elderly parents who need care.
There endless reasons why other things may stop someone. . . .

My son's rec basketball coaches are terrible. I played the sport at a high level and they have zero idea what they're doing. They are nice people. He loves the team and his teammates and who cares. I'm not willing to coach. So you know what I do, I smile and keep my mouth shut. Try it OP.
