That advice is good only for healthy dogs. A 14 year old dog that is likely near the end of his life should be fed whatever he’ll eat.

My vet told me if he gets hungry enough he will eat but I would soak his food in warm water or unsalted bone broth.

Feed him ice cream. If that’s he will eat, then that’s fine what you should give him with no second thoughts. I don’t want to make you sad but when my dog started doing this, it’s because she had cancer and she passed away shortly after.

Purina's Frosty Paws is available in two flavors--original or peanut butter.

These frozen treats are sold in grocery store ice cream freezers. Usually priced at $4.99 for 4 cups.
