My regular use of flavored creamers (in the big plastic bottles, easy to find everywhere, plenty to choose from) evolved out of COVID...no coffee shops, grocery runs minimized so milk needed to stretch, switched to instant because I got sick of the damn grinder + French press every day. The creamer makes the instant much better, or at least it made it easier to switch.

But really, of all the "fake, processed, gross" stuff people regularly eat and drink...THIS is the one that bothers you that much? That's...weird.

Coffee "cream" = fresh half and half

Whipped cream = fresh heavy cream

Agree. Flavored creamer is another one of the many reasons so many Americans have a weight problem

The weight problem starts with those awful sugary coffee drinks from Starbucks. So gross.

Oh really? I keep seeing them at the grocery store and have been intrigued. Is it good?

The Chobani creamer is my absolute favorite. It’s just cream and some sugar with water. All natural and has a great consistency. I try really hard not to get any creamers with oil in them.

A tablespoon of flavored creamer like International Delight has the same amount of calories as a tablespoon of half & half plus a teaspoon of sugar. If you use heavy cream, it’s even more calories.

I don’t think flavored creamer is the culprit in American obesity.

I use unflavored nondairy creamer. I am lactose intolerant

Agree. Can’t drink black coffee. If there isn’t any half and half, I walk

The Silk almond/soy creamers are a good substitute for dairy-based creamers.

Pretty sure real cream = half and half, found at any grocery store. But I don't care if people use flavored creamers. Apparently there's a market otherwise they wouldn't sell it. I think this is one of those things like anything 'scented' where people who have money swear it's just so artificial and they just can't tolerate it; it's the Princess and the Pea syndrome.

Half-and-half is actually a mix of cream and milk.

The Chobani creamers are made from cream and milk left over from the yogurt-making process.
