I could not watch the Noah Centineo show bcs how unrealistic it is. I think there’s a difference between generally suspending disbelief and having to repeatedly and deeply suspend it?

Alaska Daily is probably the closest TV show. Spotlight and All The President's Men did a pretty good job.

It's amazing how applicable it still is in a lot of ways.

Alaska Daily got some things right about journalists. Not Dead Yet not so much, but I still enjoy it.

I thought Better Call Saul had a pretty realistic portrayal of law firm life/politics. I don't know if the portrayal of being a narco lawyer was realistic bc I am not a narco lawyer

Many elements of “Tár” reflect my life and my career has touched personalities like those shown in the movie.

I thought My So Called Life gave an accurate portrayal of life in a school.

Somewhat. Very unlikely a student would live with a teacher for more than one night.

I led a 'book club' of season 4 of The Wire for my teacher colleagues. They were floored at how accurate it was. I was pretty new to the profession at the time. A number of people in the group had been teaching for over a decade.

Started season 4 and couldn’t finish because it hit way too close to home as a special ed teacher for students with behavioral issues

I am a legal secretary. Used to be a receptionist. Been doing this for 26 years and NEVER have I gotten to yell "You can't go in there!"

But I have gotten to enter a conference room, quietly walk over to one guy in a suit and either hand him documents or whisper to him and have him follow me out.

I'm a research university professor. Nope. Only if Killing Eve was an allegory about departmental politics.

as I teacher, I concur. Who has all that time to hang out in the lounge?

Ok but, some of those personalities are spot on!!
-Veteran elementary teacher

And all of the district and parental and principal bullshit they have to put up with. I relate to all of that on a deep, deep level.

+1 the lounge isn't realistic but the feelings of affection and annoyance are!

If there’s a member of my profession in a mystery they are the killer almost every single time.

I am still waiting on the TV show or movie about legislative drafters. Would probably need some murders to make it watchable.
