Subject: whose seniors haven't decided yet?
To the MHC parent, would an email suffice? Maybe you can convince her she may regret not trying. If they say no she is in no worse position but I bet they give you something. There are examples of people’s emails on the Paying for College 101 Facebook group.

tell us where she’s deciding between, and I’m sure we can figure out where she should go!!!
OP here - choices are UMD and Towson.
Is the tuition difference too difficult to afford? If you can afford it I would recommend UMD instead
+1 why is Towson a better fit?
Due to circumstances (not aid), UMD is actually cheaper, but not so much as to be an issue either way. DD's personality is not a go-getter type, and it seems like Towson is probably a bit easier to navigate (in every way). I think she's capable of being successful at UMD, but whether she would really be able to handle it could go either way.

Have you DD send an email and ask for a 15 minute call and say that she wants a parent on the call as well.
It is great that she is trying to be independent - but understanding how it works and the nuances are beyond her years.
PP here. I advised my kid and was w/ her in the FA office, but she handled all the comms and emails. It really wasn't hard, just presenting the other offers and making the request. There wasn't any need complex understanding or negotiation. No one have her answers in that moment. They just took the info and responded back later w/ a decision.

This. Are you on CC? If so, I remember your kid is a strong candidate. It’s possible they didn’t want to tie up merit aid amount for an unlikely yield. Definitely contact them and ask - if that’s the outcome you want.

No merit from the SLACs she's seriously looking at. Just from ones she doesn't like, or feels are too low ranked.
