No need to do that. Just look at neighboring Yorktown, W-L and Langley high schools for a stark difference in the quality and maintenance of school facilities.

Can you corroborate this? I am rather skeptical this happened as I believe it would have been covered in the school newspaper and no such incident has been reported.

It’s a good school but the physical plant is very subpar. I don’t think it impacts the day to day that much but when my kids go to other high schools in FCPS and in other districts they are always shocked at how much nicer they are than Mclean.

We have a friend whose child got a concussion from the roof caving in, they still haven't fixed the roof at McLean. i have no idea where the money is going and it seems that they would rather risk a lawsuit and injuries over fixing the school

Many of the pictures are of the bathrooms, which will be renovated this summer. However, bathrooms at even fully renovated schools can also be gross.

OP could be someone in the MHS district obsessed with the current state of the facilities or they could be someone who lives outside the district who thinks making a big deal about the state of the facilities is a good way to attack a rival school. People in the district reasonably could have expected FCPS to treat them equitably when it came to school facilities. And the county has been actively encouraging people to move into the district, which includes just under 1/2 of Tysons, for years.

Of this there can be no doubt - the Dunn Loring project is Exhibit A - $60M that could have gone to expanding both Chantilly and McLean with money left over instead going to the construction of a new ES that is surrounded by under-enrolled schools and for which there is no need in that location for years to come, if ever.

Justice is not getting a full renovation. It is getting an addition. It is overcrowded, just not as overcrowded as McLean. Why it got an addition and McLean has not has never been explained by the School Board - could be because FCPS got its projections wrong several years ago or maybe it’s because they think their commitment to “equity” means favoring a poorer school over a wealthier one. People often ascribe motivations to the School Board, but no one really knows because they refuse to explain their reasoning (or lack thereof).
