My brother is generally pleased with the current school system for his daughters. I am sure it has changed a lot since I was there. Westport kids predominately go public. Schools in Westport are well-ranked. I think nearby town of Weston ratings are better. But who knows??
Weston is supposed to have great schools. It’s smaller than Westport and more rural in general. Also no train station or water access from what I can remember… we looked at both Weston and Westport during the pandemic but decided on Greenwich because the commute to NYC was better (especially if you live near the train), taxes are low, and schools are good. If you or your spouse work in NYC I would suggest looking at the door-to-door commute from Weston or Westport before you buy.
Yes a good point. My sister lives in Weston and loved the public schools for her kids. But she also fell asleep on the train from nyc on several occasions and missed her stop.

NYC transplant. I used to commute to NYC daily via the Danbury branch. It was a slog! I became a stay at home mom when my son was born back in 2005, in large part because it would have been very tough to manage daycare dropoff and pickup with that commute. My husband commutes still (out of Sono) but thankfully he only has to be in the office a few days a week post Covid.
My son is entering senior year and we have been THRILLED with the schools and community at all levels. It has been a wonderful place to raise a family. If you can handle the commute, that is.
