What a strange post.
This has been a problem in MoCo for a long time. People moved to this County in the 1990s to enjoy good schools, nice libraries and parks, decent roads and neighborhoods. Later, the County decided to recreate itself into some newly graduated urban planner's dream, along with also acting as a magnet for illegal immigrants. The County has become more and more urbanized and more and more funding has had to move to social services and away from amenities. I'd say their policies left behind the majority of taxpayers a long time ago.
The county became more urbanized because more people were moving there. And anyway, its sharpest population growth came in the 1980s, not the 1990s. The "urban planner's dream" policies are adjusting to the reality that the county has more than 1 million residents and its needs have changed.
So people just kept moving here and THEN the planners approved many high density projects to house them, driving up traffic, overcrowded schools, etc.? I think you have the directionality wrong. And expenditures by the County on day laborer centers and health care for illegal immigrants had nothing to do with attracting them to MoCo?

Oh, you mean “equity” achieved through things like progressive criminal justice reform? Yeah, that’s big in dc. And op, no there are no council members who care about the non-criminal, wealthier, less troublesome voters.
Well, theft and crime effects hard working middle class more than wealthy as its hard to just switch to driving if metro stations aren't safe or buy new phone or jacket or wallet if someone snatches it.

There has to be a better balance. I don't think its just a matter of intention, but more of competency and implementation.
