You may be thinking of Flint Hill (I don't know their policy), but COVID vaccination is required at Potomac. I'm sure it will also be required of all new students in the Fall.

Potomac PP here-who didn't get bivalent--and this doesn't sound right. There have been no communications about the vaccination protocols for the 23-24 school year. Yes, this year, they were still requiring the initial "full" round of vaccination against Covid. But they have not required updated vaccinations for each new school year.
If everything was required in 22-23, then what new school year has happened that did not require something?

Now that the FDA has ended the primary vaccine series, schools won't be able to require it any more because students would not be able to go out and get it. Thus, schools could either drop covid vaccine requirements or require the bivalent. Many colleges have opted to drop covid vaccination requirements recently, although a few have said they will switch to requiring the bivalent.

I’m not the PP, but if someone has refused to get themselves or their children vaccinated in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence regarding its safety and efficacy, nothing will convince them. You can’t get through to someone like that. My friend is an ER doctor in the south, and she said even after people had been put on a vent, they refused to get vaxxed, claiming Covid was mild for most. There is nothing more anyone can say or do to break through to people who are so blind to facts. But they are idiots to not get vaccinated at this point, and I very much hope all the schools in the area require it.
Whether or not the vaccine benefits outweigh the risk for very specific age groups and genders is debatable. Many people have vaccinated themselves while making more cautious decisions for their children. The fact that a child is not vaccinated does not make parents idiots. Do you call the parents in a good portion of Europe idiots because it is no longer recommended for healthy children to get vaccinated, since their health departments determined the risk did not outweigh the benefits?

Surely you know what “gender affirming care” means, as it is right in the description. It’s any care that helps affirm your gender identity. My friend who received a breast lift after nursing 3 babies received gender affirming care. My aunt who had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer and underwent reconstructive surgery received gender affirming care. And a trans person who takes T or hormone blockers receives gender affirming care. The Botox I receive once a quarter is gender affirming care, even, as I feel it helps my face remain more feminine.

OP: for what it's worth, we never had our kids get the bivalent booster. So I do not believe they are requiring anything beyond that first "series" of vaccines. There is no health or scientific reason that teenagers and younger should be getting the bivalent boosters or anymore Covid boosters at this point, unless for very specific health reasons provided by a doctor.

In case you haven’t been able to look this up on Google either, there are some valid reasons why some people aren’t vaccinated incl kids - not that anyone needs your approval. Judge others much?
It has nothing to do with geographical location, Trump, Biden or any other dumb conclusion you jumped to. Pathetic bunch here, really.
One of my kids has an egg allergy, so I know all to well that some kids can get vaxxed. She was actually able to get it, but we worried she wouldn’t be able to. Schools will provide exemptions to anyone who can’t get it due to medical reasons, and some kids being medically exempt makes it all the more important for those who can to get it. This attitude is exactly why there have been outbreaks of measles, pertussis, etc., in recent years, particularly amongst children. Get your kids vaccinated.
