I love Alta too, but my favorite was Powder Mountain. I haven’t been in many years though. Back in the early 2000s when l lived in SLC you could get pulled into the back country by a snowmobile for $5 a pop, ski down and end up at the bottom of a lift in bounds. So awesome back country without having to hike! Awesome snow too.

I know it’s been more developed recently but probably worth researching!

2nd favorite is Jackson Hole. 3rd is probably Aspen - combination of luxury and challenging skiing, but travel in/out can be unreliable.

Just renewed my Ikon Pass for next year.

Did you get stuck there?

Luckily no, but we could only go 1 day because the road was closed for at least part of the day the previous days. Last week was the week it was closed for 4 straight days. The snow was crazy the day we were there and it's snowed 100 inches since then!

White Grass is a gem. Too bad the last two winters have been pretty poor. Hopefully next year is better, but it doesn’t seem to be trending that way.

Jackson Hole is my favorite. It has the steepest terrain to ski in North America. It's snow, natural features, backcountry terrain, and vertical rise are amazing. It is not a mountain for beginners and has limited terrain for intermediates. The resort is still family owned and it does not seem as corporate run as the Vail resorts are. They have limited passes so it has remained relatively uncrowded. The town of Jackson is fun with many great restaurants. Plus this season's snowfall was record breaking.

My favorite is Alta in terms of terrain and snow. But for a family friendly option with good slopeside lodging and food options and just all around awesome place, it’s probably Steamboat.

Agree with both.
