DHMS offers a short study hall/Phoenix Time on block days when kids can go talk to teachers to ask questions, finish homework, etc. They sometimes do other group activities or meetings during that time as well. In previous years, they also offered short, rotating learning seminars during this time but I don't think they offer that anymore. That time is used for many purposes, not "equity".

I believe Williamsburg has a similar "Wolf Time". Not sure about other MSs.

Gotcha- so it’s during school hours when everyone is supposed to be there?

No I haven’t seen study hall in MS before and I generally know there’s an issue with assigning HW due to varying supports at home. I was asking if study hall was meant to address that inequity. Calm down!

No they read it individually for the most part (per my 8th grade DD), but sometimes they would read aloud. They are responsible for making sure they were up to date on the chapters for quizzes, etc.
