We have done Keys, Miami, PR, CR, Mexico. Unless you go South and sometimes even FL isn’t that warm, I’m not sure where you can go except for islands. I have not really felt warm out west. Maybe parts of Grand Canyon or UT?

OP here. I am going to take a leap here and assume you actually want to know, and are not just hoping to tell me how awful it sounds to you. We like it and it’s what we feel comfortable spending. I book the day flights are released (I check the main carriers at 330 days out but usually end up booking SW which is released later if the others don’t have what I want.) I check all major FL airports, best deals are usually into MCO or TPA but occasionally have luck with FLL, JAX, or RSW. And the other catch is I usually end up having to take an early morning flight down (like 6am) and then you have to come home a day or two early (like Friday or Saturday, but not Sunday.) Once we get down there we stay in Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express type places and just outside the action, ie: we don’t stay “on site” at theme parks and we don’t stay beachfront at the beach. Hope that helps! I don’t plan to respond to snobs. Yes I know being rich is better and you’d rather stay home than travel like me. That’s been covered plenty.

San Diego generally isn't going to be warm in March (it was chilly this year for April spring break), and the ocean water will be super cold. Spring break airline tickets were also expensive this year, and I don't expect them to be significantly cheaper next year.

We were in HHI this year (April 3-9) and the weather was amazing! Ocean was definitely warm enough to swim. Not sure if that is normal though.

OP here. I will reconsider AZ. Like I said, that was my original plan for next year but got spooked by the colder weather this year. Seems like the Phoenix/Scottsdale part would likely be warm enough though and would just be cooler on the Sedona/GC days which is fine.

we had a great Airbnb in Sedona for 300 a night that slept 10, hiking trails right outside the back door.

Sedona? When I visited we splurged on Enchantment which was wonderful, but I realized that there really isn’t a single place with a bad view in all of Sedona. I would consider this for a budget vacation and stay at an inexpensive motel and do lots of hiking. Every place in Sedona has a pool too.

If you raise your flight price limit, you might be able to spend a lot less on hotels. Don't fixate so much on "cost of air fare" and "cost of hotel" and instead consider the entire budget.

Hotsl in Medellin, Colombia are pretty cheap--airfare will likely be close to $500/person, but you'll make up the difference in the cheaper hotels/food.

Puerto Rico is warm that time of year , maybe it would work if you could find cheap tickets and a small AirBnb? Not sure $300/pp cheap though. Otherwise the US is pretty cool still last week of March. Might just be chilly spring breaks the years it falls that early.

Los Angeles could maybe work. Flights might be more but there are tons of air bnb and hotel options. Not sure of weather but you probably wouldn't be sitting by the pool anyway

OP here. We do it regularly and quite happily. I “can’t even imagine” being such a snob. Thanks to others for suggestions, I will definitely look into them. I’ll keep FL in my back pocket if I can’t work out something else.
