We sometimes put them together. I’d we had two rooms they definitely sleep together.

But normally we split up DD with me and DS with DH because hotel queens tend to often feel smaller than our bed at home so it gives DH and I a bit more room.

Two queen beds and a pull out or rollaway. How is this a hard problem to solve?

I mean I wouldn't sleep next to my brother as an adult, so I wouldn't expect my teens to either. If bed sharing is necessary, boy with dad and girl with mom.

Is this concern only about gender? Like would your two daughters be able to share a bed? I don’t see what wrong with it. Are you afraid there would be creepy weirdness?

My teens would not be comfortable sharing a bed for a myriad of reasons.

We do an sofa bed, rollaway, or adjoining rooms. The kids are just too different in their sleep habits to share a bed anymore. Ds is an introvert and needs his space at the end of the day. Dd is a giant chatterbox and drives him insane.

When my brother and I were teens and we stayed in hotels w our family, one teen would be in the bed and one on a Rollaway cot or air mattress on the floor. We never shared a bed but I think it was more because my brother is really tall and moved around a lot in his sleep than due to him being a boy and me being a girl…

We get a room with either 2 beds or 1 bed and a sofa bed or in VRBOs before we've dragged a mattress or done an air mattress for the floor.

But, my teen son is 6-4 so that's a factor. He's big to share a bed with comfortably. My husband is 6-5 and we share a king and it's fine but he takes up a lot of room. When we share a queen it's not roomy. There's a lot of touching. For siblings, I think it wouldn't be great.

I think if I had normal sized kids, they could absolutely share a queen or king no problem.

My 13 yo boy and 15 yo girl just shared a bed over spring break. It's no big deal. What exactly are you worried about?

Most recently, king bed for DH and me, sleeper sofa for DS and rollaway for DD. If there were only 2 queens, I would sleep with DD or we would get connecting rooms.

We get a room with 2Q and a sofa bed whenever possible but if its just two queens we sleep one with each parent.

They can sleep opposite. One with head near wall and feet towards too and the other with feet near wall and head towards the room. Or you can put pillows down the middle. You can bring a sleeping bag for one -especially if one tends to spread out.

There are many ways to share a bed

I don't think it's a problem. I have b/g twins.

But there is no way my kids would agree. They both move and spread out a lot when they sleep but think only their sibling has this problem
