Riderwood has a good reputation from a few folks I’ve heard. (A neighbor has his father there and has good things to say about the rehab piece). Riderwood is big, which I think can be nice for the diversity of ages, backgrounds, skills, and interests. (E.g., if your parent is interested in music, there’s a performing arts group, etc). I’ve also heard relatively good things about Ingleside(s), Asbury Methodist Village, Kensington Park. There’s also one out past 6 flags in MD that I can’t find right at this second which is reportedly very good as well.

I’d recommend looking at nursing home compare on Medicare.gov and putting in “in a continuing care community” and you can see the NH ratings which are important.

yes, it's all in the details - that's a good reminder. Also about the evaluation. I had forgotten that there is usually a second one after they move. TY.

That's kind of you to say. DH definitely appreciates and FiL, before his decline, often told him that "your wife knows how to play your mom like a fiddle."

Look, it's now always that way, but I probably have more experience than my MiL does to some extent. Her parents were never in the equivalent of a CCRC when they were alive and her ILs had one arrangement for the duration of their stay.

Want to help them be in the best situation they can be as well as what is the best use of their money. It also makes it easier on DH who shoulders the majority of the burden.

(I'm not OP, but my IL's are in a similar place and were looking at that place.)
