I did not love UChicago. The neighborhood it’s in is total dumpster fire. As a parent, I much preferred Northwestern.

Did you visit Stanford? I assume not.

My niece just graduated from NYU. Her parents definitely did not love it but she did.

Predictable, because the overwhelming impulse on DCUM is give in immediately to the hating, resentment, and general insecurity that defines this forum.

We both LOVED Northwestern when we visited. Seems like the perfect place to spend your college years, and we thought the campus (especially the south side) was uniquely beautiful.

+1

Also didn’t think the campus or off campus area was anything special. The law school was the only nice part.

Penn
Ugly. And tour leaders talked the whole time about how stressful and competitive it was. I hated it and would never want to apply there.

Bowdoin - campus mediocre at best and not easy to get there. Facilities underwhelming relative to bigger schools.

Florida. Kid loved it but Mom was not impressed. The tour guide mentioned how responsive the campus police are every 10 minutes and left the impression Gainesville was crime waiting to happen.

Clemson. My son loved it, and it's now his top choice. I didn't hate it but didn't see the appeal either.
