GenX - 49 with an 8 year old. Not a wealthy professional, didn’t plan to wait til early 40s. Didn’t meet my person til we were both later 30s.

It seems like different sub forums attract different age groups. And more people use recent topics than not to cruise. I don’t read posts in a specific aged tone unless they refer to their experience in that way.

I’m 45 with a 10 year old and a 7 year old.

I'm 40. My kids are 2, 5, 7. I don't ask parenting questions any longer so I'm not really on your radar, probably.

I’m a solid 1972 Gen x’er and I’ve got an elementary schooler and a middle schooler. Of my closest DC friends who all had kids the same age, I was the middle of the pack for parental age. Having kids in your late 30s isn’t rare.

This is me! I have a 13 and 11 year old. Just turned 54 yesterday.

Also 54 with a 13 yo and a 10 yo!

Maybe it depends on where you grew up? I am also 47. My Dad was a doctor and we knew many women doctors.

I am a late boomer—born in 1965. Youngest kid is 17, oldest is 25.

Some are just turning 40, and I have almost nothing in common with them besides kids. They are doctors and lawyers. When I was growing up, it was very rare for women to be doctors. I am so proud of my mom friends who are doctors!

I’m older GenX (54) and I have a HS freshman. Many of my friends have younger kids than me. I only have a few where their kids are out of the house.

GenX (born 1975) and my kids are in their mid teens-early 20's. My oldest was born when I was 24, Youngest was born when I was 30.

Gen X. I have a kid in HS, MS, late ES. I had all of my kids in my 30s, at the same time as my entire friend group from high school, earlier than my professional friend group.

I am Gen Z.

I’m a Millennial, about to turn 42, and I have an 11yo. It’s generally a little late for the eldest Millennials to be having first kids, so I assume Gen X is well beyond that.

Pardon the interruption for a pedantic side note (my new mission is to correct this very common mistake): gen xers with new kids COMPRISE this forum, but the forum is COMPOSED of gen xers with new kids.

I am late gen X, 50, and dear god, I hope I would hope not to be a new parent at this age
