I rarely do lower body strength. But I run and bike. My legs are very muscular. So while I know that lifting with legs is good for running, it seems like I'm doing so much already and I don't want to overdo it, or have to rest them and forego a cardio day.

I think most people enjoy working upper body more because results tend to be more visible. where lower body tends to not show up as quickly. Most likely due to how most people hold fat.

I don’t work out my upper body because I have shoulder and elbow injuries that I’m still babying and rehabilitating after decades of athletic endeavors. So, my lower body is fit and arms quite soft. You don’t know everyone’s story, OP. Perhaps some have lower body issues you don’t know about? Focus on yourself.

My favorites are the duds with jacked arms but tiny legs, hunched over and leaning on the stairmaster or holding on to a treadmill on incline. It cracks me up, every time. One guy said it was "genetic"

However, I did want to hear about upper body workout posses.

I don’t think they see themselves the way everyone else does. Like an Oliver Sacks thing. All that matter to some of them is to have a jacked upper body, maybe abs and the rest who cares.

Because I find it very difficult to believe that someone’s body is able to build mega muscles up top but nothing beneath. They’re just not putting the same effort in on leg day.

Why don’t you just specify men. Women don’t do this and never have

You aren't doing it right then. Clearly the thousands of other weight lifters who do leg and butt workouts and who see results prove whatever you're doing is wrong. If you are truly working out your lower body and cannot see results in your hamstrings, glutes, and quads, that's 100% on your workout.

Nope. Bodies are different, as a PP said. I’m a mid-40s women who builds muscle easily and looks “jacked” in my upper body and core (as per the many “do you CrossFit” comments I get when I wear tank tops). My legs wouldn’t be that defined absent an obsessive focus on reducing my body fat to unhealthy levels since, like many women, that’s where my fat accumulates.

Again: bodies are different, largely due to genetics. Workouts and reasonable diets, especially ones for non-professional athletes, only get you so far.

I am your twin. I am also very jacked on the upper body but I would have to be in mid teens for body fat percentage to see any leg definition. And I squat and deadlift well into the 200s at 140lbs body weight.

I think most people do workout their lower bodies more than their upper bodies. I run and run and run, and I love it.

Because they have short stumpy legs?

Whenever I see selfies of only upper bodies, I pretty much assume they are short with short legs. The shoulder to head size proportions would indicate stature as well.

This is a Time Machine post from the 80s. Almost no one does this anymore.

There are, however, many women at my gym I’ve never seen do any exercise other than goblet squats.
