I love my diamond studs. If I lost them, I’d absolutely replace them with lab made diamonds. Lab made diamonds weren’t a thing 20 years ago when I bought natural diamonds.

The only way to tell the difference, is in a lab by microscope. There is no such thing as an ethical, mined diamond. Certificates are easily bought and meaningless. My engagement ring, a lab grown diamond, is lovely. I get tons of compliments.

Another thing to note is that diamonds aren’t actually rare, despite what the industry would have you believe.
If looking for a special piece of jewelry, go with another type of stone like a sapphire or ruby.

Are you sure about that? some of the larger man made diamonds I am looking at have a lot of inclusions, to the point of looking kind of bad because of all the black dots.

Not true. Also stones like moissanite are indistinguishable IRL. I challenge you to tell us the difference. I can hold a moissanite next to my diamond in multiple lights and can't yell the difference with the naked eye. Under a microscope is different, but I work with gems for a living.

I can tell the difference between moissanite and diamonds if I put them next to each other and compare, and I don't work with either.
But I know that lab diamonds and naturally-occuring are the same.

Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds grown on a controlled environment.
They are magnificent.
Yes, I have a 2 karat edwardian piece.
The appraiser explained to me that manmade diamonds are obvious because they have no occlusions, blemishes.
When dealers are looking at diamonds thru the magnifiers, that's what they are looking for when they grade the stones.

Are you blind? Because moissanite double refraction is very obvious. Lab diamonds, on the other hand, are indistinguishable and often do come in warmer colors contrary to what PP seems to think.

I prefer natural diamonds but it's all about the setting. A good setting will make CZ look real. I would not spend above that for lab diamonds.
