The Harvard Westlake data would put the acceptance rate unhooked in this GPA range at 50+%.

F*** this process. Been horrific for us, Bunch of safeties. Remaining readouts seem unlikely

This is mediocre for CAS.
No surprise.

you have no idea what you are talking about.

+1. We know kids who got in with a lot lower stats ED.

They are correct.

Correct what? That an unweighted 3.8 at a Big 3 is mediocre? dude. you are clueless.

I don’t think it mediocre but I’m not surprised they were rejected. SAT scores are not that high in the test optional era and legacy typically only helps if you ED.

OP here. DC denied for Engineering. 4.0 UW / 33 ACT / multiple strong leadership positions, great internships, published research, study abroad. So far, safeties only despite what should have been some solid match schools. Agree w/PP this process has been brutal!

I recommend this podcast for parents in the same boat:

It's actually significant.
If your daughter applied to Stern, she wants to get in McIntire at UVA.
You need to apply to it tha starts in 3rd year.
Acceptance rate is 50-60%.
Another layer of risk and added stress for almost two years.

3.99 UW GPA, 36 ACT, competitive athlete, president of the Jr board of her club sport 2 years, principle musician 3 years youth orchestra, published author, multiple articles published.

Cmon, your kid sounds really accomplished, but the “multiple articles published?” Unless your kid is the jr poet laureate, this sounds so inflated. Most journalists in their 20s who have completed college with a writing major haven’t published multiple articles. What kind of publications are relying on teen authors, other than school newspapers?
