Last I knew it was something like the top 20% using local norms. The actual values have been posted, but at a low FARMS school, that may be 95th% and above.

The CES letter says if your kid qualifies for enriched literacy at home ES.

In our home elementary school, there were only 2-3 spots each year for CES for the entire 3rd grade. We had 3 classes of 3rd graders when my child got in.

If you are at a high performing school like a W feeder, chances are pretty slim. Like my 3rd graders class is 90% gifted. What are the odds that my kid will be selected?? Almost 0. Although my older kid was waitlisted and later offered a spot over the summer. Chances are pretty slim.

We don't. I'm at a CES school; we don't know who gets in any sooner than you. We have guesses about some students we think should make it, but sometimes they're waitlisted, so there really isn't any way to know until the lists come out and parents accept.

I see in our USPS mail alerts the CES letter. Fingers crossed...
