+1. I just got back from Mexico City (for vacation) and can’t wait to go back. Lots of remote workers there too, and if you stay in one of the main touristy neighborhoods it’s perfectly safe. Look at Condesa, Roma, and Polanco.

Aren't there kidnappings?

There are kidnappings everywhere. They are not more common in Medellin than any other Latin American city.

Very affordable housing (long term airbnbs) and lots of options, accessible, quaint (walkable), great food, and close to lots of other adventures to be had. There is a core expat population here so I don't think it will feel completely isolated even if you're solo.

Gorgeous….could be hot in July….

I know someone who rented an apt (but shared with another person) for about $4-500/month last summer in Lisbon. Sounded dreamy!

Budapestx Krakow, or Prague. Walkable, lovely cities and lower cost (compared to most of the EU).

Would Buenos Aires be too cold for you in July? It’s a lovely, very European city. You can use that as a base to go in all sorts of dire directions. We went to Iguazu (must see, IMO), and then to Uruguay.

The islands, Mexico & parts of Central America are cheap in the summer if you care for it. Montreal also could fit what you're looking for.
