No, I don’t, and I’m telling you the wealthiest presence in our city are doctors.

I have plenty of friends who are scientists, PhDs, college professors, software engineers and they don’t live half as rich as doctors.

You know, I started to write a post how most software engineering jobs cap at 120K.

But then decided to look at the parents in DDs grade in the most expensive private school in our area.

In DD's PE class which is one of the larger classes there are

- 1 teacher parent
- 1 lawyer
- 1 pastor
- 1 company president
- 1 gov contractor program director
- 3 people in tech - VP, Product Manager and a startup founder
- 1 orthodontist
- 6 doctors

I can count in other classes, but trust me, most of them are doctors.


The plurality are doctors. Plurality.

+1 of every rich dope in private school, the ones who deserve their earnings the most are the doctors. And when we talk tech we are not talking software engineers. You must be in a backwater town where finance means the bank teller and not the private equity or hedge fund guy.

My bf is a cardiologist with a specific specialty within cardiology. Yes, my friend lives a comfortable life in DC but is not living the life you describe. And my friends' student loans are on another level!

Please stop. You've been told multiple times by people who KNOW (I have doctors in my family too!) that the most doctors in the US are not that rich. I don't know what's going on in your location, but STOP GENERALIZING and hating on an entire professional group! Who is going to save your life, huh? I guarantee that doctor is not making millions.

I think you're mistaken about how wealthy doctors are. Within a few years out of law school I was making more than my surgeon stepdad.

They probably have family money and being a doctor is mostly a vanity job.
