When we travel with the whole family (usually around 10-20 people), it does often end up cheaper to charter a plane than it is to fly everyone first class. On the other hand, I personally prefer to fly commercial if we are flying a short route because I don't like the smaller chartered planes.

UMC don't fly private, rich do. And UMC here ARE multi-millionaires, go read other threads on this forum. Those in upper rung of UMC may occasionally fly business class for longer haul flights. Nobody who isn't rich or is doing this for some extreme special occasion, or is so stupid as to vastly overpay to show off would be chartering a plane for a 3 hour flight.![]()
