Atheist humanist here, I can’t think of a more dangerous book to my children than the Bible. They will study it when they are of the appropriate age and have developed the appropriate critical abilities, just like they will study other historically important texts. But as young children, this is absolutely not a work of fiction I want them seeing or studying.

This unironically benefits Christians. Look at all the carping in this thread, its all aimed at the OT.

The New Testament stands on its own, and did so for hundreds of years before some Byzantine Emperor stapled the two together.

So, R christians don't read the OT because they considered it graphic? Are you telling me that R christians never read from the OT?
