Sorry to threadjack but we’re considering Bahia St Regis off season because rooms are suddenly around $550 (plus fees). Concerned by some bad TripAdvisor reviews. OP did you go there recently, with kids? Would love to hear more

Not under $1k a night (or even close) even in the summer.

Not sure where you are looking at prices but rooms start at $1000/night right now and in early June they are starting at $800 (+resort fees)

1. Go to Trip Advisor
2. Type in your island
3. Click on hotels and add your dates and then sort by “traveler ranking” (it defaults to “best value.”)
4. Pick the highest ranked hotel that is a price you want to pay.

I think you’ve gotten some good suggestions, but it’s a little frustrating when the OP wants us to do the research for you. Have you searched?

OP checking back in. From what I am reading, it sounds like at the price point I specified there is nothing? I know there are plenty of not particularly nice hotels in the Caribbean for a few hundred a night (i.e. 3-star all-inclusive), but is there nothing between those and the $2k a night places?

The cheapest room at La Samanna this summer is $2,888. Similar for Pink Sands. I am now officially priced out of luxury hotels!!!

Us too. I still shake my head sometimes wondering that the hell happened.

Anyway, there could be worse things.

Lol, this place is $1500+ during peak hurricane season.
