Read the texts. Historically black frats and sororities advocate for diversity - it’s in their founding documents and charters. They would be banned under the new law from being a beneficiary of any university spending for “advocating” for diversity:
(2) A Florida College System institution, state
282 university, Florida College System institution direct-support
283 organization, or state university direct-support organization
284 may not expend any state or federal funds to promote, support,
285 or maintain any programs or campus activities that:
286 (a) Promote the concepts listed in s. 1000.05(4)(a);
287 (b) Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion;
288 (c) Promote or engage in political or social activism; or
289 (d) Include or espouse, as government speech or expressive
290 activity of the Florida College System institution or state
291 university or its direct-support organization speaking or acting
292 on the Florida College System institution's or state
293 university's behalf, preferential treatment or special benefits
294 to individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin,
295 sex, disability, or religion.
Such organizations could not operate on campus in any capacity because that would benefiting from university spending. No use of conference rooms, hanging a flyer, putting up a table in the quad, etc.
It's not just black fraternities. Every national fraternity and national service organization would be banned under this. Any employer with a DEI statement would be barred from recruiting on campus. I'm guessing that enforcement will be very selective and will ultimately result in very expensive settlements

He is NOT going after them. It is a speculation. Read the bill.
It’s very clear that the existence of historically black frats and sororities will run afoul of the law, as written. Some Florida legislators are trying to add an amendment to the law to carve out the frats and sororities, but have not been successful yet.
So yes, as proposed DeSantis would be eliminating the historically black frats and sororities. The only reason these organizations exist is because racist whites wouldn’t - and largely still do not - accept black students in their Greek orgs.

No. It means they can charge rent--just like Fairfax County schools charges for use.

As written, this would ban a lot of campus groups… College Republicans, Young Democrats, any environmental action type clubs, etc etc. But does it actually ban them from existing on campus, or just prohibit them from state/gov funding? There’s a big difference.
