I think the bigger threat to the reputation of Maret is people that come here to spew vitriol and rumors and be derisive without having ever met the guy. Go ask your search committee and your board what qualities the HoS has that were more important than his time at Whittle. Certainly there must’ve been a lot of applicants for the job at Maret. That would be a lot more productive for you. But you might learn some things that mitigate your anger and maybe you’re not looking for that.

While there is no question that Chris Whittle is a con artist, I also imagine that some of the folks who signed up to teach at Whittle were good teachers who fell for the con, and the kids were likely bright kids whose parents also fell for it. That doesn't mean that the kids weren't learning and that the child who got into Georgetown wasn't qualified. No need to bash the students or assume they aren't good enough for prestigious schools. It's not their fault they ended up in this situation, and with natural smarts, a couple of excellent teachers and/or outside of school work, it's not inconceivable that they were able to transition to a "Big 3" or college like Georgetown and do just fine.

Here’s what I think may have happened. The 3-4 extremely wealthy and connected families running the inner circle advisory committee with the new Maret HoS wife and Whittle to the bitter end helped get him this job in exchange for their keeping the doors open and lying to the other parents until their seniors could graduate. One of the kids got into Georgetown out of Whittle. $$$$ Follow the $ and the favors

I looked back for the thread too and could not find it. It was active yesterday. There was a post that used the new HOS’s name in the thread, so I assumed maybe it was deleted because it named someone specific.

No it was the Maret troll poster. Think it was the same person who was upset about getting fired or something. The old HOS is still in place and the new HOS does not take over till next year.

There were Whittle transfers.

So the new HOS(who does not take over till next year) has directed the old HOS(who has been at the school for 29 years) to admit Whittle students. Let me guess you have no relationship with Maret but you have a friend who has a friend(who has no connection to the school) that told you this?
