Subject: Feeling guilty about early retirement
The book Your Money Or Your Life is great on this issue. There’s no difference in working vs volunteering apart from money. If you enjoyed your work, you can keep doing the parts of it you love and none of what you dislike, on your own schedule. If you want to do something else, you can do that.

Isn’t that the truth! I retired after 35 years at 65 yo, and I have never contacted my former coworkers and they have contacted me. Of course, OP’s question isn’t really about other people, but just a sense that they could be collecting more goodies.

Isn’t that the truth! I retired after 35 years at 65 yo, and I have never contacted my former coworkers and they have contacted me. Of course, OP’s question isn’t really about other people, but just a sense that they could be collecting more goodies.
