I workout at 5:15 am at the gym (cardio and swimming laps). I have to do it on an empty stomach. I drink a lot of water before I swim. Strangely, I fell better. And, after the showers, I go to my car and eat my dried fruit and oatmeal balls and some berries with a babybel cheese. At work, I just drink unsweetened herbal tea until lunch, which is always soup. NO cramps, stomaches or anything. But, if I deviate, it is NOT good for me.

Weight loss isn't a goal.

I have some raisins and very small glass of orange juice. For a long run, I'll have an egg white omelet and small bowl of oatmeal an hour before.

He will know based on how he feels. If he doesn't have energy while working out then he can eat toast with PB before, or half PBJ sandwich.
