I was going to suggest something similar. Retail in a smaller place. Maybe even an ice cream shop or coffee house, someplace that will offer her hours outside of typical class times.

She can enroll at nanny agencies or advertise within your social circle, neighborhood etc to find gigs by word of mouth. Babysitting gives girls and boys a good idea of how to handle children and why they shouldn't have children until they are ready.

Lots of colleges offer part time job opportunities on campus. Work the check-in desk at the workout facility; receptionist in the admissions department; retail clerk in the university book store, security in a dorm, barista in the campus coffee shop, admin in the college business office, etc. etc. Many of these come with the added bonus of getting to study while you work (i.e., in between customers). Can she try something like that?

Babysitting and after schooll nannying. It pays really well and is flexible. She can be picky about who she works for and around her schedule.
