My son is named Sam, that is what's on his birth certificate. People cannot get their minds around the fact that he's not a Samuel.
My sister is Amanda, she always hated Mandy but people will still call her that.

I love nicknames, so we only looked at names that had multiple nicknames. I've always been disappointed that I didn't have a nickname. I really like that you can call a baby one thing, a child another and then they choose a different nickname as an adult. Names should grow like that.
