It does get mentioned on this board, usually in the vein of "don't even waste your application fee". It's a shame, but for applicants from VA, I think that UNC just doesn't see the yield there, since UVA is such a close peer school and clearly much less expensive for instate. My DD loved UNC, looked at Naviance and saw that no one in the 12 year history shown in the scattergram had ever been admitted. Did not apply, now at UVA.

+1 Georgetown could easily drop its acceptance rate from 12% to below 10% by joining the Common App and going test optional like most of the other top schools.
