There used the be a blog that tracked the three housemates. If I remember correctly one of the attorney housemates moved to another part of the country and found another job practicing law. Then someone ‘outed’ him to his employer regarding his involvement in this case and he was no longer with them.
I think the other two also moved away from this area.
It was many years since I read that blog and I’m not sure if it still online.

The why? is the big question. Why would a law firm partner with so much to lose choose to commit a crime like this.
