My God, parents are idiots. The liability associated with these types of events is nuts. When I was in HS a parent who hosted a party like this got put in jail. It's really sad if you think your relationship with your kid rides on your being "cool." Grow the f up and learn to say no.

Nope. These are 17-18 year olds. They drink have sex and take drugs. The only think you can control is whether they think you are such a square so as not to talk to you, ie the quality of your relationship including after they go to college.

Or, if that's your style, trust that you've educated them well enough that they're not going to get into a car with a drunk driver, they're not going to drink in a glass they haven't poured themselves from a non-spikeable source, they're not going to take a pill (one poorly mixed fentanyl laced pill can kill), they're going to go to the bathroom with another friend...
