Threads on this board for the past week have been saying that overstepping congress would be Veto'd.
There was a little more concern when some Senate Dems said they would also approve the bill passed by the house if it came to trying to override a veto.

A diplomat being mugged by 3 people in a stolen Hyundai, in broad daylight, near the State Department earlier today was the cherry on the sundae of what a SS the Council has created. Had they read the room and passed along the 95% of the bill that was non-controversial to the Congress post election all would have been well. They put national Dems in a bad position and for what, exactly? So what should have been done, responsibly, will happen now, after a blow to statehood instead? On another + safety note, a bill was introduced to keep SROs in DC schools, sponsored by Gray, Pino and T. White.
