I'm shy, dh is introvert but hides it well. We learned a lot of people does the same, even his boss. They work in the government.
We like being social then we need time to recharge. We have family and friends. We play videogames, like anime and enjoy walking outside and hiking

I had IVF - no sex required. Solo mom. 😆

DH and I are both introverted, in the "need daily alone time to recharge" sense. We have one child because that's the level we can handle. She's socially outgoing but, like us, needs some time to recharge. We do some after-school and weekend activities but we're very careful about preserving time to rest.

I happen to have anxiety, which is unrelated to introversion. It can manifest as anxiety about my child, and also it got much worse with postpartum hormones. It was probably a factor in my strong aversion to vaginal delivery; I had a c-section by choice. I saw a therapist for a while, and I no longer consume any scary or upsetting media.

OP, if you have mental/emotional disorders you are hopefully seeing a professional. You should talk to your professional, and your OB, about how to manage the additional stress and hormonal influences of pregnancy and birth. Anxiety and depression during and after pregnancy is really common, even for people who don't already struggle with those.

If you are on medication, you should be aware that the thinking about remaining on medication during pregnancy is evolving; most (all?) of those meds aren't tested on pregnancy women but more doctors are advising that the mother's mental health is more important than an unknown risk to baby. On the other hand my friend takes a medication that was unsafe for baby, and after a challenging pregnancy without meds she chose not to have more kids.

OP, what I found was that I don't feel like I have to be "on" with my kids, and thus, they don't sap energy.

Read this forum for 1 day, and you'll see anxiety runs high around here amongst parents, so yes, you can parent and have anxiety .

Because half the world is introverted. Introversion, like extroversion, is a NORMAL state of being. OP makes it seems as if introverts are somehow abnormal, or disabled, and specifically associates them with disabilities.

It's downright offensive and OP is lucky I didn't use stronger words.

OP sounds like an introvert who is considering having kids, and is asking an honest question. Not everything is personal attack on you.

I honestly doubt it. OP wouldn't phrase it that rudely if they were talking about themselves.

The perfect answer for such an ignorant question.

It’s manageable if you have a spouse and kids who love you for who you are and some time away from everyone. Working part or full time is good for this! I always took the metro to work so I could read more when away from my family and be more engaged when with them. One of my kids is an introvert too, and we love reading our own books quietly together.

Like others have said, introversion is not always linked with anxiety and sensory issues, though I wouldn’t be surprised to learn there are some correlations.
