The world's best marathoners do most of their training at a pace that is much slower than their race pace. The equivalent for the average person (relative to their fastest running speed) would be a brisk walk. So mix in a few quick jogs, but it's fine to spend a lot of the time walking. Then gradually increase the share of time you're jogging. This will be much more sustainable than trying to run the whole time, and allow you to do it more frequently.
