Seriously? Just Google this and lots of examples come up (assuming you mean induction not just any old electric). Start with this article https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/jan/29/why-electric-stoves-are-better-chefs . Induction isn’t just better for the environment, it’s better for cooking. Gas is ancient technology and the world has moved on. I agree with PPs that it doesn’t make environmental sense to get rid of a perfectly good gas stove but when you do need to replace, induction is the way forward.

Not getting rid of my Wolf anytime soon.
BTW, OP, how do you feel about having thousands and thousands of functioning stoves sitting in a landfill?

I get that people are concerned about the health and environmental effects of gas stoves, but they need to be balanced against the cost of having ranges and ovens in landfills. When my Wolf is no longer operable, I'll make the switch to induction, but I worry that the pro-electric people are blithely ignoring the environmental cost of having these non-biodegradable appliances sit in landfills for centuries.
