- UMD CS is $43k/yr with Merit.
The cost is not much difference.
Which one is better choice?
Thank you for any input?

ha ha. Yea, pick UVA over UMD, GATech, UIUC for CS. LOL. Please do it. Make room for other kids at those CS focused schools.
There is zero CS ranking where UI is ranked higher than Harvard or GATech. What are you smokin?

My struggle is to follow the general ranking or major ranking?
Well, does CS major strong UMD provide better resources vs UVA cs: such as professor, CS curriculum, software/hardware lab, research opportunities?

Are any rankings accurate? Do you believe the rankings that show UVA > UMD but not when the rankings show UMD > UVA?
Stop getting riled up and finding offense. My question is genuine. I couldn't care less about UMD vs UVA particularly.
But since we all know general rankings are "massaged" along by nearly every single university that plays with its numbers, are major-specific ranking any more accurate?
The same statement applies: are any rankings accurate?
I bet you look at general rankings.
