Subject: Compare and contrast Hackley/Masters/Horace Mann/RCDS
I go to HM and it’s great but you have to be ready to be working nonstop and if you have extracurricular activities-like me-you have to expect to be up late. However, during the admissions process, Riverdale and Fieldston were both less welcoming even though they apparently give less work

Our family: (1) The tour guides seemed miserable. We had been on a lot of tours so the kids had enough to compare and contrast - "they don't seem very happy." (2) DH didn't like the history of pedophelia. (3) DD asked to return to HM for the yield event and reported back that the girls (this was for MS) seemed kind of catty and didn't like their vibe. She did say they had the best swag of all the schools.
Our friends: basically a mix of "where fun goes to die" and no action on the pedophelia front when they were students. "Yeah, we got good educations, but we'd rather our kids also be happy when studying."
So, what schools offer a better balance?
