Yes. They are giving me just what I have today and nothing more. I need more to justify a move

You need to do your research and figure out what is considered market for your position and industry.

I'm assuming you're getting a 3 year guarantee for what seems like a lateral move. That's what I negotiated for a SVP position in 2020.

You could get that by upping the salary to 280-300 and/or more bonus or equity. You are in a good position to negotiate. Is the bonus % of salary or set to a dollar target or other? Does the recruiter know your current comp? It’s perfectly reasonable to tell them this just isn’t an increase from your current position enough to justify the risk of the new position.

Changing jobs is the best chance you have at a salary/comp increase.

Thank you. This is good advice.

Tell them you need 300k salary, I probably would leave for 275k salary here but always ask for higher.

Op here. Current position isn’t great-no support and no guarantee to make a big bonus again next year. Job wasn’t what was promised.

Current job:
200k salary + 150k bonus (with no guarantee of such a huge bonus next year, may likely be 30k with no stock option)
Been at company almost 5 years

New job offer:
250k salary + (do I ask for 300k?)
40-65k bonus cash
25k-40k company stock
Same VP title as I have now. Different position but executive level which I don’t have now.
