They don’t have tiktok and are therefore don’t know about every fight, viral video, etc. until later than most.
We have found teachers to be helpful and caring. Can’t say enough good things about Tilden Drama.
My only concern is how much they will be prepared for WJ. They have pulled solid grades for 3 years with minimal effort. I know mcps scaled back during covid/covid recovery but I am a bit worried about the adjustment to HS. This is probably normal though.
I think most of the above posts are the vocal minority.

AP Gov was a huge adjustment as was APEX Bio. They’re not really doing the kids any favors by making things easy.

Based on what I hear from families, I think Tilden is surely a lower level than other middle schools in the area. I have family friends in Julius West and their kids are getting far better math education. May be due to AIM offered there.
If I had options, I will avoid Tilden.
Also no reading at Tilden. My friends’ kids throughout all regions of the county read books. Not at Tilden the past few years.
Interesting. My Tilden 8th grader has read books for their English class.

The new principal has no control over school, fights and swastika is common. Tilden drama is the best thing in school, Fall and spring plays. Kids love the program. Overall disappointed from experience in Tilden.

Well, Tilden feeds to WJ as does North Bethesda MS. The only 2 MS that feed to WJ so...
Well WJ is a great school.
How you get to avoid Tilden LOL is absurd.
