We've been to athletic events in MoCo, FredCo, and Carroll County and haven't seen it.
I hope the MD schools continue to allow cash.
It's nuts, bc even if your kid isn't in HS, I would drop of my MS daughter to watch the HS girls basketball team with her friends, and just give her a 20 for entrance fee & concession stand. It seems crazy to require a card or an app

Yes, I agree. My kid is in a high school sport and the majority of "away games" throughout Northern Virginia that we've been to, not only is the entrance fee "cashless"--but you have to download a specific app (usually "Ticket Spicket" but there are a few others) just to enter the game. It's ridiculous! I always think about some elderly grandparent that just wants to watch his grand daughter play field hockey but can't figure out the app or is reluctant to add credit card info into their phone.

PP back again. It sounds like you don't believe me that any school would do this. I just did a quick google search and it's definitely a thing--one of the first several results on my google search was this high school (in Ohio, so not around here and definitely not my kid's school, but still) also going cash-less. I'm sure there are lot of them

This is a 6th grader though, not a high schooler. Gabb is fine.

I don't know if you read my entire post. I know OP's kid is in 6th grade. I am saying that sometimes even middle school sports teams go to large events/competitions at high schools, and those high school concession stands might not take cash.
Maybe that doesn't apply to OP's kid because she doesn't participate in any sports or activities like that. But many middle school kids do.
