I agree that this smacks of desperation on the part of the School Board, but is there any reason why a future School Board couldn't just change it later?

The current board can pass a 3 year calendar if they want, but the next School Board might actually have some common sense and return to sanity.

Exactly. There's no certainty that this collection of batsh*t crazies gets voted out, but this calendar isn't "law". It's a "suggestion" that the new board can go along with or rework.

I was thinking that too. The new school board could make changes to any existing calendar before the start of the school year I bet.

The people who responded to the original survey and are willing to share their personal email and kids school have said they want a 2 week break. A large percentage of the people did not respond to the first survey and few people are responding to the new survey because you have to identify yourself and there is no room for actual comments.

OP: You know when this year ends and you have a good idea when school will start. You have plenty of time to book your camps and vacations for this summer. Another few weeks to announce Winter Break is not likely to cause you much planning head ache.
